According to French TV channel TF1, Laurent Koscielny is on the verge of signing a 3 year contract extension. Signed from Lorient two seasons ago, Koscielny has been one of Arsenal's best performers over the last couple of years, and is part of a burgeoning central defensive partnership with Thomas Vermaelen. That the Frenchman is set to achieve 100 appearances for Arsenal before Christmas (in less than two and a half seasons) demonstrates his quality.
Koscielny, who is interesting Inter Milan and Barcelona, is now set to be rewarded for his performances with a new deal. This is likely to be formally announced shortly before the start of the Premier League season in August.
